The role. You own how DelGate is found on Google and in AI assistants (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot). You turn search demand for warehousing, fulfilment, and big-and-bulky delivery in Canada into qualified quote requests.
What you'll do
- Run a full technical audit of delgate.com and freight.delgate.com, and manage fixes with our web developer (Core Web Vitals, indexing, redirects, schema, internal links).
- Build and own the target keyword map by service and city (Vancouver/Lower Mainland, Toronto/GTA, national delivery).
- Analyse competitor SEO: rankings, content, backlinks and AI citations for GoBolt, Metro Supply Chain, InterFulfillment, SHIPHYPE and others.
- Own AEO: define the buyer questions we must win, track how AI assistants answer them, and change site content, structured data and listings to get DelGate cited.
- Write content briefs for the content specialist and review drafts for search intent and accuracy.
- Run local SEO for both warehouse locations: Google Business Profiles, citations, reviews and directory listings.
- Build a white-hat backlink and digital PR plan (industry directories, partners, trade media, Clutch, GoodFirms).
- Report monthly on rankings, organic traffic, AI citations and organic leads, cross-checked across Search Console, GA4 and HubSpot.
Must have
- Daily AI use (essential): you use AI tools every day in your SEO work and know how to use them efficiently, with examples of workflows you built and the time they saved.
- 4+ years of hands-on SEO, including technical SEO on WordPress sites.
- Proven B2B or local-service SEO results you can show with data.
- Working knowledge of AEO/GEO: how AI assistants choose and cite sources.
- Strong Ahrefs (or Semrush), Search Console and GA4 skills.
- Clear written English and the ability to explain SEO to non-specialists.
Nice to have
- Logistics, 3PL, ecommerce or B2B services experience.
- Basic Python or JavaScript, and experience with Elementor or Divi.
- Experience with link building in Canada or North America.
